History Stops Repeating

Previously, I noted that there was a certain flavor of idiocy that I had lost my patience with that particular week. Thanks to regime change The Liberation, I don’t have to put up with that anymore.

I feel like I should write an epitaph for the source of this frustration. Because I shouldn’t let it just be remembered for its frustration. People are ultimately complicated and multi-faceted, yet we tend to reduce them to whatever we need them to be. For a long time, I simply needed to outlast this person, to wait them out until The Reconquista. Later, things changed; this person became a real human being in my perception. As such I needed more and different things, some of them even in conflict with each other. Then at the end, things narrowed back to what they were in the beginning.

“The Reconquista” isn’t happening, but I have outlasted this person, finally. Who will I be when there is nobody else left to outlast?
